TOO OFTEN WE UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF A TOUCH, A SMILE, A KIND WORD, A LISTENING EAR, AN HONEST COMPLIMENT, OR THE SMALLEST ACT OF CARING, ALL OF WHICH HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO TURN A LIFE AROUND

Ya, You Bettcha It's Cold...

It's winter in Minnesota
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love Minnesota
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Minnesota
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!
I have no idea who wrote this, I know it wasn't me, if

  6. Every time your page opens and I see that lovely minty green quilt on the fence, I wish it was mine. It's so lovely and soft and uncomplicated.

Thank you for that sweet gift.

  10. That is quite funny!! I can relate to that from years ago when I lived in Winnipeg Manitoba and my hair would freeze in long strands - I remember so clearly how my nose would freeze shut!! We are watching the Vancouver Canucks play the Minnesota Wild as I write this.

  11. Yup--my DH would say "cold enough you get snotsickles". Icky but true!! Cold over here in South Dakota, I love the green quilt too and long for green grass and gentle breezes.

  12. I've always wondered what true Minnesotans think of Prairie Home Companion. Do you listen? Is it funny to you too? One person i knew from Kansas said it was "too close to home."
