I took your advice and added not one but two borders! The quilt finished at 70x85". I like the way the red frames the quilt center before it hits the green. A nice finish to celebrate National Quilting Day. Hope you are celebrating with some quilting time. A very windy Minnesota day makes outdoor photography a challenge, but you get the idea of how the borders look. I thought my quilt holder might blow away cause the quilt was wanting to catch the wind like a sail and you know that Tom is a lightweight now so I had to take a quick shot before he blew away! :-D
The snow is gone and the wind is drying up the ponds of water. Early spring plants are popping up out of the soil. Like them I am reaching for the sun. It feels so good to soak up sun and fresh air without freezing my backside off.
Mmmm Kim, the quilt looks fabulous. The colours all hugs each other beautiful allowing each one to shine on its own.
ReplyDeleteLovely.

Hello Kim - I've been spending a bit of time here and loving everything you've been creating recently. Beautiful quilts! How wonderful you used your talents to help out children who are hurting. That's an adorable quilt! I wouldn't expect anything less from you. I'm glad the temps are warming up for you - I know it's been a long, very hard winter there. I'm glad you and Tom are well and happy. Thinking of you, Nan
ReplyDeleteI love the borders, the quilt looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt Kim!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet words :)

Kim the quilt looks amazing! The two borders finish it off nicely. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI really like this quilt. What pattern did you use....or did you make it up yourself? I like how it showcases your focus fabric so nicely.....too often we buy great fabrics and then cut them up so small that we can no longer SEE the focus part of the fabric!
ReplyDeleteKim, what a beautiful quilt!

What Minnesotan wouldn't love a quilt like that! We are from MN and I love it! I agree that the borders finish it nicely. aren't you glad you finished it and can now enjoy it. Especially in Duluth!
ReplyDeleteThat makes me want to curl up in it. Love the colors. And I love the Adirondack chairs. Maybe that's why I thought of curling up. : ) With a good book. Or an episode of House, M.D. And a cup of coffee. Or a glass of wine. Well, you get the idea. This one is cozy.
ReplyDeleteKim, this quilt is so beautiful! I love EVERYTHING about it! I'm SO glad that you found me, so that now I might find YOUR lovely blog! WOW! Can't wait to come back and visit! I love your part of the world...
